Office Club appoints Toby Robins as Chief Executive

Office Club is pleased to announce today the appointment of Toby Robins as Chief Executive. The vacancy was created by the untimely death of Office Club’s founder, Mark Austen.

Kim Austen commented “In Toby, we have found someone who shares Mark’s commitment to the independent channel and who has the skills and experience to build on Mark’s legacy.”

Allison Fishlock, Head of Merchandising added “I, and the team at Head Office, enthusiastically support the appointment of Toby who has been known to many of us for many years. His industry experience and strategic vision will add value to Office Club to the benefit of our members.”

Peter Duncan, interim CEO and Managing Director at Office Club member Wiles Greenworld, contributed “Toby is a values-driven, customer-focused, thought-provoking and passionate champion who has been a key factor in making Wiles Greenworld the success it is today. Having served on the Board of NEMO for ten years and been elected Chairman, he has an understanding of the dynamics of running a dealer group and I am excited at the contribution I know he will make at Office Club”.

Toby closed saying “Office Club has an exceptional team of highly experienced experts who solidly and consistently deliver material benefits to its members. I look forward to contributing to ensuring that we support our members in identifying and profitably realising the opportunities presented by adapting to the changes in the dynamic marketplace in which we operate.”

About Toby Robins: Coming from a background as a Xerox salesman, Toby set up his own office supplies company, Greenworld Supplies Ltd, in July 1989, merging with Wiles Group Ltd in 2006 to form Wiles Greenworld Ltd. While at Greenworld Toby was elected to the Board of Directors of NEMO culminating with the role of Chairman before resigning following the merger with Wiles Group Ltd. Toby holds a Masters degree in Sustainability, is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a member of iema. iema is the body that represents 15,000 professional environmental managers and Toby has been appointed for a second term to their Strategic Advisory Council. For five years Toby has been a guest lecturer and now teaches on the Masters and MBA courses at Brunel, Sussex and Westminster Universities delivering lectures on Business Ethics, Operational Supply Chain Management and Sustainable Procurement.
