Dealers Demonstrate Sales Growth in Writing Instruments

On the back of recent news that Members had seen a 12% sales increase with Pilot Pens UK, Dealer Group Office Club has reported overall sales growth of 11% across the nine pen manufacturers it has built a relationship with for the benefit of Members.

Merchandising Manager for Office Club, Allison Fishlock, announced: “At Office Club we like to support our dealers with offers and promotions on a wide range of products, including new categories and technologies, but we never under-estimate the importance of core items; demonstrated by the fantastic result we saw from our pen suppliers that worked with us on promotions, marketing and competitive pricing – Enhanced by our strong BPGI relationship with key pen manufacturers ensuring our members are getting globally competitive cost prices.”

Karen Mather, National Account Manager added: “At Pentel we are delighted with the way our relationship with Office Club has blossomed during 2014, with direct sales growing by over 11.5% and overall sales by almost 10%. We firmly believe that this success is the result of a good working relationship, founded on excellent communication, and working together on promotional programmes in both the B2B and the B2C market to help Office Club dealers engage with our products.

It is a similar story with Newell Rubbermaid with Nichola Harris from the Consumer Division adding: “During 2014 Office Club and Newell Rubbermaid worked closely together on a number of marketing campaigns that saw a broad range of promotions within the retail market.   Good product communication and great promotions ensured that members were confident in selling the brands – The results of this are there for all to see with an growth of 21% for Office Club members in everyday writing”

Of the nine approved pen suppliers that Office Club have an agreement with, seven saw significant growth in 2014, including Stabilo. As UK Field Manager John Oakes explains: “Stabilo and Office Club have enjoyed a long established relationship, but 2014 proved to be particularly successful with direct sales up by over 30% – The result of a good working relationship and dealer engagement with products, in particular our colourful permanent in-store display options, merchandising materials and our promotions, including the unique Brand Builders promotions that have seen Office Club members engaging with our brand. “
